Gilmore and Dunn Family Dental Practice
Shauna Gilmore has always been at the forefront of Dental practice innovation. She is an award-winning dentist, has been named a Top Dentist by 5280 Magazine in Denver, Colorado many times, and is the top rated dentist on Dr Oogle.
We first met Dr. Gilmore in 2011 when she asked us to re-design her website. The dental practice is focused on family and cosmetic dentistry, and they take a holistic approach toward patient treatment. They also place a big emphasis on reducing patient anxiety with a spa-like atmosphere. That spa-like atmosphere can be seen everywhere, from office colors and the comfortable waiting room, to the relaxation menu items and soothing process when dealing with patients.

There is a lot of technology behind their approach to business. Impress Design has been lucky to help create some of it. In particular, we created Suite Procedures, a progressive web app that can be customized for each doctor in the office. The app allows them to manage every procedure the office performs through customizable procedure checklists on a tablet.

About Suite Procedures
Suite Procedures is an application that makes certain each procedure in the office is performed with the correct tools and has all of the necessary paperwork included. It allows dental assistants to prepare procedures in advance based upon doctor preferences. It allows the office to streamline procedural routines.
Most importantly, Suite Procedures allows new employees to get up to speed quickly and efficiently. It is extremely valuable when a key assistant is on vacation or out sick and there is a temporary worker filling in. Because of its ease of use, new people can step in and perform their tasks easily and efficiently.
Section Breakdown of the App

There are five key areas to the application: About, checklists, procedure steps, take-home instructions, consent forms and patient sign-off forms.
About
The About section is simply a description of the procedure and it accomplishes. This can be used for the patient as well as any new employees.
Checklists
Checklists are the life-blood of the app. There are a couple pages of checklists depending on the procedure. Checklists include things like cassettes and tools that come from sterilization or are in-room. They include images of the actual tools. Checklists of tools, including images, can be customized for each doctor to accommodate how they prefer to work.

Procedure Steps

There is a page that details the entire steps taken during the procedure. Patients can read through this as well as dental assistants.
Consent Forms / Patient Sign-off Forms
Patient sign-off forms allow the patient to sign directly from the tablet and the file then gets emailed automatically to the front office via the HIPPA-compliant email account.
Take-home Instructions
There is a page of take-home instructions for the patient. They can read through the instructions or they enter their email address and get a PDF file emailed to them.
Dr. Gilmore originally used a book (a 3-ring binder) that she had assembled and refined over the years. The app we created allows for greater freedom for staff, and makes the office run more efficiently.
